Job Description: As an API Specialist, you will design and build reusable and efficient APIs to be consumed by various cross platform web and mobile applications.
Produce all required design specifications, work with the Project/Development Manager to create detailed technical task lists, provide technical guidance to the project team, and enforce project standards and best practices.
Use recommended best practices and customer inputs to produce design artefacts and technical implementation tasks required for project execution.
Prepare architectural and other technical documents. Design and enforce API design policies.
Configure API gateway to optimise traffic.
Create documentation and communicate good practices for API development.
Establish security-driven API standards and guidelines.
Work with the technical team to implement the requirements of infrastructure components.
API development and configuration.
Set up Source code management using Dev Ops Tools and/or SourceTree etc.
Build and execute API functional and performance test plans.
Test script definition and management.
Execute Technical, functional, regression and load testing.
API lifecycle release management and deployment.
Monitor and understand API usage analytics.
Provide strong technical leadership and guidance to project teams, including teams that are geographically distributed.
Strong knowledge of Python, CGI/Perl, C & C++.
Minimum 4-year hands-on experience on designing and implementing REST & HTTP API.
At least 4 years of experience in technology consulting, enterprise and solutions architecture and architectural frameworks.
At least 2 years of experience in Enterprise Integration/Middleware Solutions, API Management in building solutions and architectural frameworks.
Degree in Computer Science, Computer or Electronics Engineering, Information Technology or related disciplines.
